In 2024 and 2025 we helped Get Out the Vote for liberal Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices Janet Protasiewicz and Susan Crawford — and this year we’ll be supporting Chris Taylor.

The seven Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices all serve ten year terms, and their elections are staggered — so it seems like every April there’s another race!  In 2024 we helped flip the court from 4-3 conservative to 4-3 liberal, and in 2025 we helped preserve the liberal majority.  In 2026 we have a chance to reinforce our liberal humanist advantage by shifting the court to 5-2 liberal.  

We’ll be in Wisconsin during the final 10 days of the election (March 29 through April 8), working to help get out the vote in Milwaukee.  If you’ve done an Election Retreat with us before, you know that our projects combine mindfulness practice, dialogue, inquiry, and acting in community, with the everyday nuts and bolts of walking precincts to Get Out the Vote. 

Each day we’ll meet at Milwaukee Zen Center for meditation, service, and dharma discussion, and then move to a nearby home by orientation and training; then we’ll go out and walk precincts and meet voters face to face.  We’ll train all our participants in canvassing and also in the use of the cellphone-based PDI tracking app.
